“Maharat” is developed by Google to bridge the growing gap between workforce and skills required in the market. This is carried out to guarantee providing youth, especially girls, with the necessary skills to take advantage of future job opportunities, improve their professional lives , develop their businesses, and help them prepare for the career path they dream of.
More than 100 students from the faculties of Engineering, Computers & Information Technology from the Universities of Cairo and Ain Shams participated in the training program.
The training is part of the "Women and ICT" 2019 program. "Women and ICT initiative” was launched by MCIT in 2016 in the presence of H.E. the President at the Cairo ICT Conference and Exhibition to support and empower Egyptian women and girls economically and socially using ICTs.
MCIT is scheduled to organize further training programs this year to introduce this initiative and to provide more women and girls with different backgrounds and in different governorates with the digital skills needed to help them develop their careers.
